Lead Auditor is PECB’s certification for professionals who plan, conduct and lead these audits.

This course assumes a general working knowledge of ISMS concepts and ISO/IEC 27001 — it is not an introductory course. If you are new to information security management, we recommend building that foundation first.
Passing the exam earns the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Provisional Auditor credential — no prior professional experience is required for this level. The Auditor, Lead Auditor and Senior Lead Auditor titles require, in addition to passing the exam, documented professional experience and audit hours (from 200 audit hours at Auditor level to 1,000 audit hours at Senior Lead Auditor level, including dedicated information security experience) and signature of PECB’s Code of Ethics.
